Hoover has introduced a number of new products, all of which will be in stores this summer and you can get genuine parts for them here.

The Hoover Self Propelled WindTunnel™ upright: What's new about it: Hoover has paired its superior cleaning technology with one of its greatest convenience features to create the Hoover Self Propelled WindTunnel upright vacuum cleaner. This new upright vacuum cleaner incorporates the Hoover Company's patented WindTunnel technology, an advancement to the internal design of the vacuum cleaner that enables it to pick up more dirt than any other clean-air upright. The new upright vacuum cleaner also seems to glide under its own power, thanks to its self-propelled feature. A Hoover-designed transmission propels the vacuum cleaner in forward and reverse motion. All it needs is a little assistance and guidance from the user.

Two models to choose from:

The Premium model (U6445-900) comes with the Embedded DirtFINDER™ feature, which tells the user via a red light and a green light which areas of carpet need a few more passes and which areas are clean. The Premium model vacuum cleaner also has soft wheels on the rear of the cleaner (to help prevent marking on hardwood floors), a 35-foot cord, a deluxe stretch hose, a second stretch hose that reaches up to 20 feet and a five-piece covered tool set. And because the Premium model represents the ultimate in Hoover innovation, the unit has a forest-green metal-flake coating - just as was used on many of the classic muscle cars from the 1950s.
The Ultra model (U6425-900) has a 31-foot cord, a deluxe stretch hose, a five- piece covered tool set (includes a crevice tool, dusting brush, furniture nozzle and two extension wands) and a Mach™ number of 6.1. (The Mach number helps consumers more easily identify the WindTunnel model with features that best meets their needs.) The model is colored forest green.

Sold at: Nearly all major retailers will carry it, as will department stores and many independent vacuum cleaner dealers. When available: This summer.

The Hoover Soft Guard™ line of uprights
What are they? A series of new uprights with Hoover Soft Guard furniture protection. Hoover Soft Guard protection is a cushion-like material that wraps around the front of the upright's hood, similar to a bumper on a vehicle. It protects furniture and the cleaner alike. "To the touch, Soft Guard protection feels like a dashboard or a steering wheel in a car," said David Baker, vice president of marketing. "It's sturdy, but it has a little bit of give, and it won't leave a mark on furniture. About the Hoover Soft Guard models: The models, four named Breathe Easy™ and two named PowerMAX™, come with the following features:

a wide 15-inch nozzle, which helps minimize the amount of time it takes to clean a large area of floor space.
edge groomers, a series of flexible bristles aligned along the outside edges of the brush-roll cavity that help clean along baseboards.
a high-efficiency allergen filtration bag that captures 100 percent of dust mites and 99.98 percent of ragweed and common grass pollens. Plus, because indoor-air quality remains a high priority among consumers, the Breathe Easy models come with a reusable triple-layer filtration cassette. When it becomes soiled, the cassette can be easily removed, hand washed and put back in place. The cassette is located on the front of the cleaner so that it is easy to access and so that it is readily apparent to the consumer at the point of sale.

A new line of Hoover Canister Vacuum Cleaners.
What's new about it: Consumers want high levels of air filtration in their products, and this revamped line responds to that. Hoover is now placing its llergen-filtration bags on most of the new models in the line. The new line also contains models with new colors, new graphics and quality tools.

Summary of models:

Hoover Portapower™ I is a go-everywhere little dynamo that's perfect as an additional vacuum for quick cleanups in the workshop, garage, kitchen, car or just about anywhere else. Black in color, the unit features a straight-suction nozzle that is ideal for cleaning both rugs and bare floors, and it comes with two extension wands, a multi-purpose brush and a crevice tool for above-the- floor cleaning.
Hoover Portapower II adds to that a tool rack for convenient storage of the model's crevice tool, furniture nozzle and dusting brush.
The value-minded customer who places importance on indoor air quality will appreciate the allergen-filtration bag included on the two Hoover Spirit™ (S3410 and S3420) canister models. Both models come with a 20-foot cord, and the higher-end model (S3420) has a power nozzle with brush roll and two chrome extension wands. Both models are colored black and desert sand.
Hoover PowerMAX™ comes with allergen filtration, two chrome wands, three tools (crevice tool, furniture nozzle and dusting brush) a tool rack and a power nozzle with brush roll.
Hoover The PowerMAX Plus (S3520) adds to that a contour hand grip and a bag-check indicator.
The Hoover PowerMAX Supreme (S3530) has the same features as the Plus model, plus a deluxe hand grip, two chrome wands with suction regulation, covered tool storage, an additional reusable micro filter, a headlight on its power nozzle, a 25-foot cord with retractable reel and a fourth tool - this one for cleaning hard floors.
The Hoover PowerMAX Deluxe (S3610) adds to that a deluxe hand grip with a fingertip on/off and brush roll on/off.
The Hoover PowerMax Ultra (S3620) takes all the features on the Deluxe model and incorporates a variable speed control on the handle grip for adjusting the suction level to the task at hand. It's right at the user's fingertip, along with the on/off switch.
